Taxis add up. Rental bikes are inconsistent. Public transport cannot take you everywhere. Walking is healthy, but perhaps not ideal when you have a meeting in 20 minutes and your hotel is “only” 4 miles away.

International Shipping: Let the Bike Travel Ahead
Sometimes the smartest way to travel with an electric bike is not to carry it yourself.
For international city-hopping, you may prefer to ship the e Ant™ to your destination before you arrive. That can make sense for longer stays, work assignments, city breaks or multi-week adventures where flying with a complete e-bike is not practical.
However, there is one important detail: the bike is not the only thing being shipped. The lithium-ion battery is subject to transport regulations, carrier restrictions and packaging requirements.
Before arranging international shipping, confirm:
- Whether the destination country and carrier accept the e Ant™ configuration you require.
- Whether the bike should travel with the battery installed or separately.
- The applicable dangerous-goods classification and documentation.
- Packaging, labelling and state-of-charge requirements.
- Customs declarations, VAT, duties and delivery charges.
- Whether the carrier can handle the battery by road, air or a combination of transport modes.
Lithium batteries may be classified under rules including UN3480, UN3481 or, for a complete battery-powered vehicle, UN3171, depending on how the shipment is prepared. Carrier policies can differ, so always obtain confirmation from the shipping provider before packing anything.

The standard seat battery is 15AH, delivering approximately 50 miles of range depending on rider weight, terrain, weather, speed and riding conditions.
Need more freedom? Add a rack battery ranging from 15AH to 35AH and extend the potential range to 120+ miles.

Budapest’s historic streets and London’s famously enthusiastic potholes have something in common: neither cares how stylish your bike is.
That is why the e Ant™ combines a silver aeroplane-grade aluminium frame with front and rear suspension. The result is a resilient, comfortable platform built for the reality of urban riding.
Its 14-inch rugged tyres are designed to be puncture-proof and skid-proof, helping you handle uneven surfaces, slick roads and the occasional piece of urban debris that appears to have been placed there personally.

Power for the City You Are Actually In

The e Ant™ is available with 250W, 350W or 500W motor options, with speeds of up to 35mph depending on specification and local legal requirements.
For public-road use, make sure your chosen configuration complies with the laws where you are riding. UK rules, Hungarian rules and regulations in other European countries may differ, particularly around motor power, assisted speed, registration and where the bike can be used.

- 350W: Extra assistance for hillier routes and more demanding daily riding.

Trains, Planes and the Small Print
A folding electric bike can make international travel easier, but it does not make transport policies disappear.
For example, Eurostar states that folding bikes and folding electric bikes can travel as standard luggage when fully folded, protected in a suitable bag and within the operator’s stated size limits. Its current guidance specifies a maximum folded length of 85 cm for folding bikes on certain London routes, while other routes and luggage conditions may vary. Eurostar also says that loose lithium e-bike batteries carried separately are not allowed on board and that e-bikes cannot be charged during the journey.
The e Ant™ folded dimensions are compact, but you should still check the exact route, train operator, bag requirements and luggage allowance before travelling.
Airlines can be even stricter. Many do not accept complete e-bikes because their batteries exceed passenger-aircraft limits. If you are flying from London to Budapest, check the airline’s sports-equipment and lithium-battery rules before booking. The frame may be accepted under one policy while the battery requires specialist shipping: or cannot travel at all.
The golden rule is simple: check first, pack second, travel third!
